It’s been a tough month for the portfolio, which fell 4.5%, yetstill outperformed the FTSE-100 and FTSE All Share, whichdeclined  11.6% and 11.8% respectively.  French Connectionfell through our stop-loss, while S&U’s results  weredisappointing, especially given its historic record of 20% profitgrowth in each of its last two years. This month’s recommendation, New Look, is an attractive short-termopportunity ahead of an imminent trading statement, while we are alsoconsidering adding pawnbroker, Albemarle and Bond, to ourportfolio.  Albemarle,  a  main recommendation in June2001 at 39p, has just announced a forecast beating 51% rise in earningsper share to 5.7p and 25% rise in its loan book,& ...
