A pleasing return to form for the TMI Trader Portfolio, which gained £12,067 (4.3%) to reach £290,564, just £8,000 shy of its record. Our decision to retain a significant weighting in energy and mining stocks was the key factor as commodity prices picked up where they left off in the face heightening geopolitical tensions. We feel that investors should continue to hold significant weightings in FTSE-250 oil & gas shares because there is every chance oil will hit US$100 a barrel or higher. The political superpowers appear too divided to stop events in the Middle East from getting out of hand, while we also have the dreaded Hurricane season on the way.
