Bodycote, whose historic roots were originally in the manufacture ofunderwear, is now the largest provider of specialist metallurgical services.  This drastic switch actually provided the platform for the shares to achieve ten-bagger status in the seven years to 1998.  While we appreciate that its activities which include heat treatment (laser soldering and surface treatment of metals in a controlled atmosphere) and optimising the properties of metal mouldings, may inspire a few yawns amongst our readers, the shares are worth consideration.
