Belvoir Lettings - Interesting property lettings franchise coming to market

The reduction in UK housing transactions has been a well-documented symptom of the banking crisis but one area that has benefited from this has been the lettings market, with both volumes of business and rents rising considerably in certain areas. It has also been estimated that over the last decade the number of privately rented properties in England has increased 40% to nearly 3m or almost 14% of total households. Such a tailwind may explain why Belvoir Lettings, one of the UK's largest lettings franchises, has just announced its intention to seek admission onto AIM, with its broker, Seymour Pierce, hoping to raise £6m-£8m, half of which is new money with the rest for selling shereholders.
