 The portfolio fell 4.9% over the month in absolute terms, buthas outperformed the FTSE-All Share by 4.3%.  Market sentiment hasturned decidedly bearish  because of a lack of confidence incompany accounts and chief executives, post Enron and Andersen. This has been aggravated by the over optimistic forecasts of aneconomic upturn, vanishing in a puff of smoke.
