It’s not surprising shares are volatile because they track the mood of the investors who buy them. Now well into my third decade writing TMI, I’ve been through the wars, seeing Lastminute.com’s £567m IPO valuation on sales of £1m lurching to the 9/11 bust, memorably encapsulated by former IT favourite, Xansa, trading on a PE of 3 as “Mr Market” became depressed. The Gulf War 2 rally was intoxicating as was the ill-fated QE3 Pandemic money printing, albeit each too was followed by a bust (Global Financial Crisis and Ukraine War). Building towards a new cycle, the mood is turning towards  hope and even optimism after last month’s below forecast inflation figures.
