For the fifth month on the trot, the portfolio made further gains, rising 1.2% to a new high of £329,875 and with several of the main indices still benefiting from the New Year effect, there was sufficient momentum to propel seven of our constituents to all-time highs. Top of the bill is Aquarius Platinum, which spiked to 1585p after AIM-listed rival African Platinum received a bid approach and the gain on our original investment in December ’05 is now up by a fantastic 217%. Other strong performers were Spice, which jumped 90p to a record 545p, Carter & Carter (up 117p) and Chemring (up 252p after strong results).
