Although the pound has flash crashed against the US$, the FTSE-100 has gained 2% because most constituents earn in dollars. However, the TMI Trader Portfolio, which is weighted towards smaller companies (which are generally UK-centric), doesn’t have that benefit and so eased 1.2%.With Brexit making trading more challenging, we are taking a tougher line with some underperformers. N Brown has had more setbacks including a £5m-£8m exceptional cost and we have sold one unit ahead of results on 11th October. McCarthy & Stone, like all housebuilders, was impacted by the referendum but although this year’s eps forecast has been lowered 10% to 15.7p, next year’s is unchanged at 21p. It could recover ...
