It was a welcome relief to see all the main FTSE indices stabilising although with no-one knowing which of the main banks holds the most exposure to those toxic sub-prime loans it seems to be a case of driving in the dark without headlights on as one wag put it. Funnily enough the TMI Trader Portfolio was also broadly unchanged although with so much cash now in our reserves perhaps we could lend those banks a bob or two! Back to the knitty gritty and there were certainly plenty of results to peruse over last month and the tone of most outlook statements (both inside and outside the portfolio) was quite encouraging, although the nervous market prevented any thought of re-ratings.
