Chinese election good for miners

The closest that China ever gets to democratic change is when its top politicians meet behind closed doors once a decade to appoint a new leader. Investor interest in the latest switch over reflects the fact that the new boss is likely to introduce stimulus measures to boost the country's economy and  that could boost mining shares.  However, even before any extra measures there are already signs of increasing activity with exports rising a whopping 11.6% year-on-year in October while its earlier US$156bn infrastructure stimulus package should also have considerable effect.
