Fashion retailer and wholesaler, French Connection, has never been one to shirk the limelight as its risqué FCUK branding and occasional brushes with the advertising regulator testify.  But the group is fast developing an excellent reputation with investors, after driving compound annual earnings growth in excess of 30% for five straight years, in an industry where the consumer is notoriously fickle.    Founded by Stephen Marks in 1969 French Connection has come a long way since its first move into retailing through the opening of a Top Shop concession on Oxford Street.  Today the group has over 90 stores and trades from 207,000 sq. ft. in the UK andEurope, and has a smaller presence in the US.  ...
