Pawnbroker H&T announced that pretax profit will now be ahead of market expectations, thanks to a strong H1 continuing into H2. This has been driven by strong performance in retail, where its investment in inventory levels has paid off, and Personal Loan. Meanwhile, the pledge book has benefited from a higher per-gram lending rate and growth in concessions. Rounding things off, the gold price has hit one month highs, which will benefit its scrap and gold purchasing arms.Numis has raised its FY’17 pretax profit forecast from £11.6m to £12.8m for new eps of 28.4p, which would represent growth of 36% over FY’16!
