The shares hit a new high of 1000p after Hill & Smith said trading in the first four months is running ahead of expectations.UK Roads is performing well with highways agency spending increasing in line with expectations, while variable message sign orders were also strong.Although UK Utilities was below last year as expected, order intake has been strong, helped by projects like Crossrail, which suggests an improving trend.In Galvanising it was the US, where significant recent investment has ratcheted up capacity, that was the other swing factor for the upgrades.Net debt was £97.6m, up from £91.5m and in line with forecasts.During the period it made two acquisitions including Hardstaff Barrie ...
