Shares in utilities re-seller, Telecom Plus registered a new high of 1410p thanks to a strong Q1 performance to end June. Customer numbers increased 12% year-on-year to 474,404 (30 June 2012: 426,406) and number of services rose 17% to 1,666,327 (30 June 2012: 1,434,339). The quality of new customers is strong with 55% signing up to at least four services. Encouragingly the group has also had a strong start to Q2 thanks to a promotion offering free membership of its Discount Club for those customers joining in July. Adding to the optimism is a new online application process that will make it easier to sign up new customers as well as enabling a more active “refer a friend†process.
