The shares fell sharply after an update for the year ended 31 March 2015 revealed several factors that caused profit guidance to be slashed.While the reseller of gas, electricity, mobile, fixed line and broadband services increased the number of customers and services taken by almost 11% to 587,223 and over 2.1m respectively, this was more than offset by an increase in provisioning for gas leakage, albeit an accounting adjustment that does not affect its cash position. This comprises losses due to estimated gas readings being lower than actual usage, money that is almost never recovered as well as higher levels of theft within the gas distribution network than had previously been anticipated.
