The shares fell out of bed as the January snow and the uneven pace of consumer recovery were borne out in Topps' latest update, which noted that overall UK revenues will show a 4.5% increase to £91.5m for the 27 weeks to 3 April. On a like-for-like basis UK stores are expected to increase revenues 2.1%, clearly not as high as some expected, particularly given the soft comparatives the previous year, where like-for-likes sales declined 18.5% . Meanwhile, the group is currently trading from 309 UK stores, having opened three but closed three in H1.
