Topps Tiles - Eps forecasts upgraded from 3.2p to 6p over the year

In nervous markets like these, even the strong have been sucked down with any downdraughts. One such company has been Topps Tiles, which has been subject to more broker upgrades than I can shake a stick at. At the start of the year analysts were expecting earnings of 3.2p for the year just ended 30 September but in the event it achieved 6p, almost double the original estimate. Interestingly, those results, which included an 18.3% jump in sales, leading to pretax profit of £15.3m (ahead of forecasts of £14.5m), were achieved in spite of Covid obliterating Q2 (Jan-March) when retail customers couldn’t visit stores.
