The first thing that Ralph Findlay, CEO of nationwide pubs group Marston’s, wanted to talk about in our meeting last month was the depressed share price, which he puts down to sector wide factors: Brexit, consumer confidence, rising costs, snow and the over-supply of casual dining outlets. This therefore might seem an odd choice for a momentum stock but look more closely and there are already signs that things are turning around.
