Marstons has announced the acquisition of Daniel Thwaites’ beer division, which includes the Wainwright and Lancaster Bomber premium ale brands, for £25.1m.Marstons has been brewing Thwaites’ beers since early 2014 and as part of this deal it has entered into a long-term exclusive agreement to supply all beer, wine and spirits to Thwaites’ pub estate. Both Wainwright, a golden cask ale and Lancaster Bomber, a premium ale, have won numerous awards in recent years and are highly complementary to Marstons’ own portfolio of market leading craft and bottled premium ales.In the 12 months to December 2014 Thwaites’ beer division achieved EBITDA of around £7m before overheads of £2m and ...
