Given that the UK has undergone its first double dip recession since 1975, one might be forgiven for thinking that retail spending is dead and buried. However, some consumer facing companies are still doing rather well and one example is Marstons, which has just announced that its interim results have beaten brokers forecasts, the second time this has happened in the past year.
