The shares fell out of bed after Restaurant Group’s year-end update provided a more cautious outlook than expected, citing tougher conditions for consumer focused businesses, the looming EU referendum, National Living Wage implementation and global uncertainty. It was also affected by flooding in the North and Scotland, which closed 20 sites for a week and overshadowed any previously hoped for benefits from outlets near cinemas benefiting from the Star Wars blockbuster.While it’s certainly getting its excuses in early, its profit growth in 2015 was nevertheless in line with “middle of market expectations” while “it expects to show material increases in eps and cash flow year-on-year.”Goldma ...
