The shares have moved into a healthy up-trend hitting a high of 344p after Babcock announced the conclusion of its non-core disposal program with the completion of the sale of its aerial emergency businesses (AES) together with the sale of part of Babcock's civil training business. The two sales have generated gross proceeds of c. £570 million and transferred leases of c. £340 million. As a result, defence, which now enjoys its best prospects for years given the events in Ukraine, now accounts for around two-thirds of Group revenue.
