I added Essentra (a front-page write-up in January ‘22), to Trader Portfolio 2 the following month at 314p and the shares have more than held their own in a wobbly market. Final results showed CEO Paul Forman’s turnaround on track, with sales, operating profit and eps ahead 8%, 47% and 55%, respectively, to £960m, £84m and 18.2p. Net debt / EBITDA was 1.5x.Components (caps, cable ties, plugs) increased sales 22% and operating margin 1% to 18.9%, leading to a sparkling 31% gain in profit to £56.9m.
