Playtech has announced the acquisition of 91% of Cyprus-based TradeFX Ltd, an online CFDs and binary options broker and trading platform provider, for an initial Eu. 208m (£152m). Founded in 2009 and with offices in five countries, TradeFX generated EBITDA of US$34.9m and pretax profit of US$31.8m in 2014 and the deal is immediately eps enhancing.The majority of the business is B2C with the biggest trading brand being markets.com. The firm is licensed and regulated in the EU and South Africa, with 60% of revenues derived from locally regulated markets and the remainder under its broader CySEC licence.
