Online gaming software firm Playtech was originally added to Trader Portfolio One (TP1) at 406p in March 2019 and after making it a front-page write-up in August 2021 (at 413p), I was about to add it to Trader Portfolio 2 last November at 429p before being beaten to the punch by a 680p cash offer from Australian slot machine manufacturer, Aristocrat Leisure. That has triggered a bidding war with two other bidders joining the fray. With Gopher having subsequently withdrawn its interest, Playtech has thrown its support towards a bid from Hong Kong corporate advisory firm TTB, with Playtech CEO Mor Weizer having joined TTB’s investor group and recused himself from current negotiations between the two parties.Usually I wouldn’t invest ...
