Over the month I met with John Richards and Mike Gant, chairman and CFO of Brickability, a “brick factor” or specialist distributor of bricks in the UK, supplying 26% of the bricks needed in the UK each year.Richards, who spent 31 years in various director roles at quoted brick manufacturer Ibstock, 166.5p, together with CEO Alan Simpson, a 38 year veteran in the building materials industry, have completed 14 acquisitions since Brickability listed on AIM in August 2019, transforming the nature and scale of future profits. Broker Cenkos has made two double-digit upgrades since last June and now expects pretax profit to increase from £15m in the year to March ’21 to £28.6m in ’22 and to climb again to £35.6m in the year just started. ...
