Elementis’ AGM confirmed trading in-line. Coatings successfully mitigated raw material inflation through price rises, while Personal Care enjoyed a “material” improvement (as I had predicted in my April piece), supported by demand recovery in cosmetics and anti-perspirants. Challenges in automotive production lowered revenues at Talc while in Chromium it has raised pricing above cost inflation, which Numis says indicates a more positive market backdrop. But the AGM was overshadowed by news of a strategic review of Chromium where profits have historically been volatile.
