CEO Jim Mullen and CFO Simon Fuller are steering Reach through unprecedented economic waters. Clearly the war in Ukraine, supply chain and cost of living crises are starting to bite, but Reach still expects revenues for the year to be “broadly similar to last year” after reporting sales down 0.9% in the first four months. Digital was +9.3%, similar to the first two months but was below Panmure’s forecast for +18% due to softer market demand blamed on weaker macro expectations and the inability to advertise alongside articles about the Ukraine war (not “brand safe”).
