The bottom could be in (share price wise and operationally) at Sanderson Design, the luxury fabrics, wallpapers and paints business. The company revealed a 64% decline in full year pretax profit to £4.4m, albeit with a better than expected licensing performance (sales +1% to £10.9m), which is almost pure profit. An impairment charge of £16.3m relating to the goodwill of Clarke & Clarke was also taken. But that should be the end of the pain. Management have accelerated strategic initiatives to align costs with the lower demand and position it for future growth.
