Wallpaper group Sanderson delivered pleasing interims, in line with upwardly revised expectations. Adjusted pretax profit rose 22% to £6m thanks to strong sales growth and cost control. Alongside much improved consumer demand for home interiors, this growth reflects its brand elevation and digital pattern books to direct to consumer and increased geographic focus, says broker Singer. Tight inventory control and operations led to strong £4.6m cash generation, leaving net cash at £15.9m, giving headroom of £27.9m on its banking facilities.Brand sales rose 5.4% driven by Morris & Co (+51.9% versus FY’20) and Sanderson (+11.9%) while North American brand sales were robust at +11%.
