The shares have enjoyed a strong run to a high of 1773p, over £5 above when we highlighted them last September. The bankruptcy of Monarch, Italy’s state airline, Alitalia and Air Berlin have clearly helped reduce competitive pressures and Easyjet’s half year results beat forecasts. It posted a loss of £18m (consensus forecasts: loss of £55m) after accounting for a first time loss of £26m from Air Berlin’s operations at Berlin Tegel airport, which were acquired from the receivers last December.
