It must feel like death by a thousand cuts for Easyjet as following last year’s French airport / traffic controller strikes there were the Paris, Brussels and Egypt terrorist attacks and now a fresh wave of French strikes.As you would expect the low cost airline has put on a brave face with the seasonally weaker first half showing a loss of £24m marginally ahead of consensus forecasts for £26m on revenues unchanged at £1,771m. Constant currency revenue per seat fell 4.2% to £52.6 of which Egypt had a 1.3% impact and Paris 2.7%. Meanwhile the cost per seat fell 4.3% mainly thanks to lower fuel costs.Easyjet opened new bases in Venice and Barcelona and exited its base at Fiumicino ahead of plan. ...
