A reassuring update from Hollywood Bowl. It’s virtually untouched by the headwinds of NICs, tariffs and input cost inflation and posted UK revenue growth of 4.7% (1.3% like-for-like) to £108.2m for H1. There were three new pinball site openings taking the total in the UK to 80 (75 Hollywood Bowls, 5 Puttstars) while Investec expects the same level of underlying growth for H2. While the Easter period and start of H2 has seen unhelpful sunny weather, the second half of last year had the same problem so comparables are weak. In Canada revenues rose over 40% driven by 13.6% like-for-like growth and the opening of two new centres (now 15). As in the UK, underlying growth was adversely affected by the timing of Easter.
