Under normal circumstances we would have expected a gentle rise after last month’s recommendation as momentum had been returning to housing construction and therefore brick demand. However, COVID-19 has spread across from China to pretty much everywhere including the UK. The resulting restrictions on people’s movements have led to an enforced ban on  property transactions. The shares have fallen sharply but Brickability has come out fighting. It has low levels of stock, a strong balance sheet with £22m cash while after its earlier refinancing with HSBC, it has a new £35m facility of which £10m remains undrawn. That gives us confidence to hold. ...
