The company has navigated a potentially tricky H2 ’18 (hot summer, football world cup distraction, UK consumer wobble) and confirmed full year pretax profit will be in line with expectations, with growth of 10% expected. These are on the back of slightly worse than expected sales growth of 5.8% (1.8% like-for-like) - although still outperforming the bowling sector - which was offset by strong control of variable costs, notably media spend and good yield management.Two new centres were added at Dagenham and Yeovil, offsetting one closure in Gravesend, taking the total to 58.
