Shares in housebuilders have taken a battering following the Covid-19 panic but recent weeks have seen a sharp bounce as investors anticipate a return to normality. One of the better placed house builders is Vistry, the new name for Bovis Homes, following its £1.075bn acquisition in January of the Linden Homes and Partnerships & Regeneration businesses from rival Galliford Try. Even before Covid, Vistry’s fortunes had improved considerably following the arrival of highly-rated CEO Greg Fitzgerald but this deal has taken the potential for share price outperformance up several notches.
