UP Global Sourcing, owner and designer of various consumer goods brands, has provided a COVID-19 update. Back on 10 February it had noted sales for the six months ended 31 January ahead 2.8% at £67.7m with underlying pretax profit expected to be £6.2m (H1 ’19: £5.9m). Separately, it also announced the renewal of the exclusive trademark to Russell Hobbs (non electrical kitchen and laundry products) and a new 10 year lease at Manor Mill, its head office and second distribution centre in Oldham, ahead of planned £18m investment. Since that update, a “small but growing” number of customers in the UK and Europe said  they intend to review, defer or put on hold orders already placed.
