The shares touched a new high of £14 in the month, some £5 higher than my December ’21 write-up as oil and gas prices continue their relentless surge.Energean’s first quarter showed it in fine fettle with revenues 80% higher year on year to US$170m and EBITDA before exploration costs rising 172% to US$89.6m. Production was 36,100 barrels of oil equivalent (73% gas). But the bigger positive was that first gas from the giant Karish field in Israel is on track for Q3 2022 as previously planned with the FPSO (floating production and storage offtake) vessel having just arrive in Israel. The prize is enormous. Peel Hunt forecasts average production to increase to 65,000 boe (barrels per day) in FY’22, 149,000 in 2023 and 199 ...
