While most energy shares have endured a torrid year, Energean, a fast-growing  Israeli-focused gas play, has proved the exception to the rule. The company originally listed on the main market at 455p in March 2018 and after featuring as a TMI main write-up the following August at 515p, peaked at 1075p in 2019. Although the pandemic cratered the shares to 296p, they have spectacularly recovered to 861p.Energean was founded  in 2007 by CEO Mathios Rigas with the purchase of some cheap oil & gas assets in Greece.
