Energean, a fully listed gas-focused producer with interests mainly in Israel, Egypt and Italy, is heading towards an inflexion point that I think could see its shares double or more in the medium term. It already boasts nearly 1 billion barrels of proven and probable (2P) reserves and production of 44,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), but next summer should see an enormous step up when its huge Karish gas field offshore Israel is scheduled to commence first production. That should see group production build towards a peak of 200,000 boepd (70% gas; 30% oil) at which point it should be generating US$2 billion sales and EBITDA before exploration costs of US$1.4bn.The company has already intimated it expects significant ...
