It’s been a terrific year for shares in Auto Trader (highlighted by us at 296.5p in July ‘15), which hit a high of over £6 in June and are still well placed at 557p.The group, which is the UK’s largest digital automotive market place, announced results that showed an 8% rise in sales to £355m while pretax profit increased 15% to £242m. That included an £8.7m one off profit from a disposal but underlying operating profit still rose 10% to almost £244m. Eps increased 18% to 21p.Its main division, Trade, which generates revenues predominantly through subscriptions to car retailers and the balance on a pay as you go relationship, increased sales 8% to almost £305m.
