Easyjet - Upgrades full year profit guidance

The shares jumped after Easyjet announced that thanks to a strong summer of trading it has raised full year pretax profit guidance from £620m-£660m to £675m-£700m, a c. 7.5% upgrade at the mid points.The group saw a 6.8% rise in passenger growth to 7.06m in August with loan factors reaching an all time high of 94.4% (+0.2%) in what is its biggest month of the year. The outlook for September is also better than expected, with particular strength on UK beach routes (wet UK weather persuading residents to flee to sunnier climes!) and Euro weakness helping. The strong revenue gains more than offset significant cost headwinds such as the French strikes and the two fires at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.Bro ...
