The shares have jumped to a post-Pandemic high of 356p as Middle East tensions heat up crude prices, while results were slightly ahead of expectations even after the multiple upgrades during 2023. Revenues rose 19% year-on-year with strong international global oil and gas activity offsetting slowdown in the US onshore market. The swing factor was OCTG (durable steel pipes that go down the well shaft to facilitate deep water oil drilling in hostile environments), which grew 53% to US$396m, beating forecasts by 5%. The legacy perforating systems business (Titan), which supply the perforating guns to shoot holes in the well shaft casing as part of the fracking process, declined 3% to US$244m.
