When we spoke with CEO Nick Collins last month, his guidance was that the next news wouldn’t come until late September (final results) but instead the group released an unscheduled trading update on 5th August (just before our issue landed), which caused the shares to spike on a flurry of very high volume buying.This confirmed that all 165 sites in its estate have now reopened while like-for-like sales have been minus 1.7% over the period since 4th July through to 2nd August. While still early days, this is impressive given the Covid-19 disruption and the fact that the government’s “eat out to help out scheme” only started 1st August.Results for the year ended April are expected in late September. ...
