Shares in utilities re-seller Telecom Plus have rushed to a high of 804p after results slightly exceeded forecasts, which had only been raised four months ago. These showed pretax profit and eps both increasing 12% to £30.7m and 33.8p respectively. Impressively, it turned net debt of £13.1m into net cash of £0.9m even after spending £6.6m on its new office freehold. This strong cash generation partly reflects the benefits of its new supply arrangements with nPower, which is fronting its previously demanding working capital requirements and providing some marketing support and in a sign of its confidence the company has hiked the dividend 27% to 27p.
