Utility re-seller Telecom Plus announced results with pretax profit up 9.1% to £53.3m and eps up 7% to 53.3p. There was a 4% hike in the dividend to 48p, while it’s also returning £70m to shareholders, following the sale of its 20% stake in Opus, by way of a tender offer.One of the rows of the general election was the Prime Minister’s announcement of an energy price cap but Telecom Plus noted that "…our wholesale arrangements and retail pricing structure will help to shelter us from the impact of the proposed price cap, compared with other major suppliers.
