Coats, the largest manufacturer of threads & zips, released its Q3 update highlighting strong growth in apparel & footwear (70% sales), which enjoyed 6% organic sales growth, double the underlying market.Broker Berenberg says that reflects 1) Coats’ increasing presence in Asia; 2) market share gains achieved through improved digital services (e.g. uptake of ecommerce platform lowers customers’ lead times); and 3) increased demand for Coats’ higher-value, more innovative products (e.g. Nike Fly Knit uppers).
