The shares spiked to 205p after final results and were followed by hefty EPS upgrades.  Total franchise sales increased 9.5% to £86.3m, with 3% like-for-like and 26 new franchised stores added. Excluding Ambala, sales grew 10.8% while including Ambala they rose 13% to £42.8m.  Gross profit margins marginally fell 0.2% as the group absorbed certain input price increases but thanks to having multiple suppliers for its main ingredients, raw material costs were stable. Encouragingly, underlying EBITDA grew 17.1% to £8.7m thanks to increased operational gearing, while net debt of £9m reflects the Ambala deal with net debt / EBITDA still a conservative 1x.  The future looks very bright for Cake Box.
