Although the shares have been volatile, Bloomsbury’s final results were slightly ahead of previously upwardly revised expectations reflecting its fundamental resilience with revenue up 5% to £361m and pretax profit of £42.1m (FY24: £48.8m). The Consumer division posted profit of £31.4m (FY24: £37.8m) with operating margins returning to a more normal 12% following the exceptional performance in the prior year, when Sarah J Maas was breaking records. The group was voted publisher of the year for 2025 and has a strong forward list for FY26 including books by Tom Kerridge, Katherine Stewart and Paul Hollywood.
