It says everything about the market that shares in Kier fell even though interims were bang in line. The standout plusses were a reduction in average net debt from £116m to £38m (and forecast to reach average cash by FY26) and an order book that rose £0.2bn to £11bn and which has grown 43% in three years. New work awarded within infrastructure includes £850m from Yorkshire Water’s AMP 8 including water processing and waste projects while in Construction it’s won a place on the £500m four-year NHS Shared Business Services Decarbonisation of Estates framework as well as a £684m project with the Scottish Government to deliver HMP Glasgow. Overall, revenues increased 5% to £1.9bn with underlying operating profit up from £64.7m to £66. ...
